Habit Forming
Monday, July 12, 2010
Do you have bad habits you would like to stop, or good habits you would like to start? They are effectively the same task; both can be handled simply, but only if you put your mind to it. Its as easy and as difficult as that.

Calendar Notes
Thursday, August 19, 2010
Starting with our Autumnal Equinox Celebration (Sep. 18, three days early) we are adding a once-a-month qigong session to the calendar. The dates will vary but will tend to be 3rd or 4th Saturday of the month, at 10 a.m. at the Arboretum. We will practice consistent sets of exercises so that students can learn them and practice at home as well in class. In general, qigong is much easier to learn than Tai Chi, but has all the same benefits except self-defense. All classes will be outdoors, so dress appropriately for the heat or cold. In the event of rain we will still practice outdoors, but under building eaves.

Elemental Tai Chi, students as well as teacher, will be performing a half-hour demonstration at the grand opening of a new United Way community center - Saturday, Sep. 25 from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Watch here for details about the location. Students will either be part of the demonstration, or will want to come to support them.

We are also welcoming a new tournament to the calendar - Dallas' Legends of Kung Fu / Taiji Legacy is holding a smaller "satellite" tournament Sept. 25 in Stafford. This is a great chance for local students to compete or at least witness a competition, and for everyone to see other types of Tai Chi in action. Unfortunately, the date and time conflict with the demonstration, so our school will not be able to participate. Click here for details.
